College Artists: Art of Painting in the 21st Century

 

The Art of Painting Conference and Exhibition is near, on March 8 – 9, 2019! This two-day conference was conceived to give a vast expanse of artists an opportunity to foster conversation about contemporary painting. This stands as the unifying principle of our conference and exhibition. Furthermore, the diverse wealth of artwork will provide fresh insights into a classic, yet ever-evolving medium.

Many prestigious artists and critics have participated in past conferences, including Philip Pearlstein, Enrique Chagoya, Deborah Oropollo, Guy Diehl and Peter Selz have participated in past conferences. This year’s renowned presenters include Amer Kobaslija, Dean Fisher, Dorian Allworthy, Glenn Brill & Tom Colcord.

stARTup Art Fair SF 2019: Call for Artists

stARTup Art Fair San Francisco is a contemporary art fair for independent artists.

The fair runs April 26-28, 2019 at the Hotel Del Sol and takes place at the same time as the Art Market SF gallery fair at nearby Fort Mason.

Hotel Del Sol is a unique 1950’s motor lodge turned boutique "California beach house" style hotel, located in San Francisco’s scenic and happening Marina neighborhood. The De Sol is a perfect setting for an immersive contemporary art experience filled with artist exhibition rooms, provocative discussions about today's art market, and interactive public art projects.

stARTup Small Works Art Fair: Call for Independent Artists

stARTup Small Works San Francisco is a "tabletop" style art fair in an industrial warehouse setting where select artists can show small-scale works in all mediums. The fair runs September 29-30, 2018. Located in San Francisco’s trendy Dogpatch neighborhood, the warehouse is within walking distance of Minnesota Street Project, McEvoy Foundation for the Arts, and the Museum of Craft and Design.

Small Works offers an excellent opportunity for artists to experience stARTup Fair in a smaller, more approachable framework that taps into a unique collector market. The deadline to apply is August 5th. Artists can apply online with a resume, bio, proposal and 10 images. Up to 40 artists will be selected to exhibit in the space.

Print your large woodcut with BIG INK at 3 Fish Studios, San Francisco, CA

Event Synopsis: BIG INK is pleased to partner with 3 Fish Studios for two one-day large woodcut printing sessions. We’ll be utilizing 3 Fish’s 48" x 72" etching press to pull prints. If accepted, artists will have two months prior to the event to carve their image into a piece of plywood. BIG INK remains in contact with each participant providing guidance and technical support when needed.  Eric Rewitzer and Annie Galvin are printmakers and painters, husband and wife, and founders of 3 Fish Studios.
