DEAR2050: Oceans on the rise

We are pleased to announce our second call for artists and activists in concert with our call for scientific manuscripts. We invite you to join our efforts with this year 2021 call “Oceans on the rise” around the effects of climate change on the oceans.

We welcome art works of all styles, artistic, artivist and activist initiatives, art & science collaborations and everything in between.

Participation offers:

• The opportunity to share your art work with a new, diverse audience

• The presentation of your art work in this year’s DEAR2050 exhibition

• The sale of prints of your art work in our online shop

• The chance to have an impact on the public discourse about the climate challenge.

SEND US YOUR TEXT !

Uncreatively Writing is an ongoing project between Igor Guedes and Uni So, in which certain parts of pre-existing digital texts are erased to create new meanings. Together, the artists use this method of writing to explore and suvery different social matters not limited to LGBTQI+, gender rights, and racial issues.

We are currently looking for a new text to work with that is less than 750 CHARACTERS.

The theme is open-ended but we are especially keen with social subjects. We often work with excerpts from literature, transcribed conversations, and even Whatsapp conversations.

Bivouac

What tools could enable us to develop new paradigms to respond to the social, political, economic or ecological changes awaiting our cities? How can we do this in a context of depletion of natural resources, climate change or social and demographic fractures? New balances between individual needs, social projects and available resources must be imagined. BIVOUAC wishes to reflect on the diversity of these energies which seek to question current rules and habits, to find innovative ideas that will emerge from this troubled period.

SEND ME YOUR CLOUDY SKY

A participatory art project open to everyone. Your photo will be part of a limited edition published book.

How to take part?

Lift your head and catch a cloudy sky.

Send one high definition image (landscape oriented) with: 1- your first name, 2- the name of the place, 3- the date the image was taken,

The objective is to create a book with a collection of images from around the world. Cloudy skies can be beautiful, a promise or a threat, hiding something, or triggering the imagination. On a symbolic level, a clouded mind can signify confusion or a fleeting interior state.
I'm looking forward to receiving your cloudy sky.

BIVOUAC

In the centre of Lausanne (Switzerland), the forthcoming transformation of the 50’000 m2 of La Rasude site is the occasion for an ambitious artistic project, LABOR, conceived as an ephemeral urban laboratory. Planned over 4 years, LABOR will bring together artists, architects, universities, the population and experts to reflect on the current and future challenges facing cities. In 2020, the BIVOUAC exhibition proposes a first artistic immersion in the hitherto closed spaces of La Rasude by presenting ephemeral works created specifically for the site. On this occasion, LABOR launches an international call for projects addressed to artists, architects and urban planners as well as to anyone professionally concerned by the development and the fabrication of urban space.
