Behind Dramaturgy: Stories You Rarely Told Others

It is easy - especially in this age of ever increasing mis/disinformation (‘fake news’), identity politics, and polarisation - to overlook that behind each ‘mask’ that we wear for social presentation in our mundane routines, there is a real person underneath: ‘Man is by nature a political/social animal’.

The person is longing for love but feels a necessity to hide parts of themselves, those that are considered ‘inconvenient facts’, thought of as truly reflective of the life path and trajectories we have been on.

Open Call: Multidisciplinary artists interested in language, language loss and revival, climate change, decolonization, alternate imaginings of past, present, and future

This open call is for early-mid career multidisciplinary artists who live, work, or otherwise have some connection to Cornwall, to present a new or existing body of work in February or March 2025.

What is the project?

This project seeks to ask questions around loss and revival of Cornish language in Cornwall. Outcomes for this project are non-prescriptive, but themes and questions it will explore centre around:

Conspiracy: open call for artists

A project space in East London is preparing a series of events and an exhibition of artistic works, films, texts, and other artefacts broadly relating to the aesthetics of conspiracy and conspiracy theory.

We are interested in hearing from artists whose practices are concerned with conspiracy and conspiracy theory and refer directly to particular current or historical conspiracies, as well as works which consider conspiracy theories as affective structures for knowing. How might the “truth of art” address “post-truth” public domains? The project aims to understand and share with audiences the aesthetic forms of conspiracy manifest in contemporary art practices, as well as the failure of mainstream arts and media institutions to address conspiracy theorising.

Sarabande offers scholarships at leading universities, houses the most affordable artist studios in London and runs a pioneering public programme of events.

Inside Out

Omi Art Gallery is excited to announce a new open call for our upcoming virtual exhibition, “Inside Out.” We invite artists from around the world to submit their works that explore the theme of “Inside Out,” delving into the depths of inner experiences and outward expressions.

Theme: Inside Out

The “Inside Out” exhibition seeks to uncover the intricate relationship between our internal worlds and how we express them externally. We are looking for artworks that capture the essence of introspection, personal identity, emotional landscapes, and the ways these internal states manifest in the physical world.

Who Can Submit:

• Emerging and established artists from all over the world.
