Please take the theme to mean whatever you wish and in whatever context, however, your work must relate to the theme in some way otherwise, it will not be considered for exhibition...... 

What does Spring mean to you / new beginnings / growth / re birth / new works / blossoming externally or within or the appreciation of beautiful flora perhaps.

This is an opportunity to show new and experimental or unusual work.

About me: I'm a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama, working as a theatre director and writer. My work explores themes of trauma, migration, and politics, brought to life through dark comedy and inventive storytelling. Call out for Theatre Musician/Composer

Call out for Musician/Composer

Applicants must be BRISTOL UK BASED: this job will not be possible by remote working.

Scarlet Oak Theatre are looking for a Bristol based musician/composer to join us for the creation period of a new family Christmas/Winter Show in 2025 in Bristol. We need our musician to join us for R&D creation rehearsals in April/May 2025 followed by a preview show. There will be a further rehearsal / music tweaking period in October 2025 before the show starts to tour in November/December 2025.

Group Crit for Emerging Artists

Accessible art crits

Art crits for artists either without a formal education or those already outside of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

What to expect from an art crit?

Our group crits are usually under 10 people. Artists bring one work/project they would like to present and each artist has 20-30 minutes to get feedback from the group. The format is less intimidating than a portfolio review, and you get a variety of feedback from a group of your peers.

Behind Dramaturgy: Stories You Rarely Told Others

It is easy - especially in this age of ever increasing mis/disinformation (‘fake news’), identity politics, and polarisation - to overlook that behind each ‘mask’ that we wear for social presentation in our mundane routines, there is a real person underneath: ‘Man is by nature a political/social animal’.

The person is longing for love but feels a necessity to hide parts of themselves, those that are considered ‘inconvenient facts’, thought of as truly reflective of the life path and trajectories we have been on.
