Call for The Surreal Spectacle

We seek to lure those who delve into the weird and unknown crevices of their boundless imagination to bring forth a viewing spectacle that is oddly attractive. Those unafraid to portray the bizarre, counterculture truths hiding in the shadows of plain sight are encouraged to submit. We welcome all mediums of 2D and 3D art that are meant to challenge the viewer's mind and cause a stir of wonder and intrigue to the precipice of delirium. This call will showcase unusual sights from bright artists who are unashamed of their discontentment of the status quo. Conformity is not welcomed, for we wish to celebrate the timeless absurdity of Surrealism from contemporary artists, worldwide. Welcome to The Surreal Spectacle.

Sports Fan Art Call

Art Scene West introduces its Sports Fan Art Call, seeking fan art that celebrates sports culture and the cherished fans who make it possible. All mediums of artwork are welcomed to submit, and those pieces that embody the spirit, excitement, dedication, and thrill of the game, will be considered to showcase in our seaside gallery in downtown San Diego, California. From iconic on-field moments, nostalgic memories, stadiums, logos, mascots, players, coaches, and culture, we want to show our public the best sports fan art there is. This is an international open call.

DETAILS

  • All 2D, hanging artwork should not exceed 30” on its longest side or an additional fee will be required if selected to participate in the exhibition.

Food for Thought

We invite artists to submit works to our “Food for Thought” juried exhibition, which celebrates food in all forms. We encourage works that explore this theme in its entirety, including, but not limited to, textures, colors, traditions, and cultural significance through an artistic lens.

Artworks can be depictions of cooked and prepared food, raw fruits and vegetables, farming, eating, as well as the places and ways we interact with food. Works can include other objects, but the focal point and subject of the work should be food.

Please do not submit real food of any kind nor graphic images related to food as this is a positive exhibition that celebrates the impact of food in our lives.
