BLOW UP PRESS announces the second edition of BUP Book Award – a competition for all photographers around the world, regardless their age, gender or nationality – which goal is to promote photo book as a way of expression. We are looking for unique photo/visual art projects (not book dummies!) which are intended to be published as a book. No matter what technique you work in, no matter what subject you cover – let our jurors see your project and get it published as a book!

So if you believe your project is completed, don’t wait too long and submit it to the second edition of BUP Book Award contest!

Our jury will create a shortlist of the 20 best submissions at the beginning of April, 2021. The winner will be chosen by BLOW UP PRESS editors and announced on April 14, 2021. Good luck! 

DEADLINE: February 28, 2021 

ENTRY FEE: EUR 30.00 per project (30-40 numbered images in a .jpg format with longer side of 1500 pixels wide)

THE MAIN PRIZE INCLUDES:

  • Book design by Aneta Kowalczyk, an award-winning Polish book designer;
  • Publication of the book by BLOW UP PRESS in a print run between 400 and 600 depending on the project complexity;
  • Book distribution by BLOW UP PRESS and cooperating bookstores;
  • Book exhibition during the key photo book shows in the world;
  • Book submission to the most important competitions in the world;

Life in Quarantine

The competition aims to discover photography that shows the mark that the pandemic has left in our lives, the photography that is executed from a different point of view, from a different situation, from an agonising environment and from frustration, denunciation and hope.
The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers who are 18 or older.

The Jury is composed of six members working in the field of visual arts. Judges look for photographs of good composition, creativity, and exceptional quality. The main Prize is 500 EUR cash awards. There will also be a winner of the public vote through likes on the social media of Art Gallery 5’14. Public Choice Prize is 150 EUR.

All genres and styles of photography are accepted: Architecture, abstract, fine art, landscape, lifestyle, nature, wildlife, portrait, street, travel, food, fashion, science, sports, documentary, etc.

Faces Art Contest

Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the first Faces online art contest for the month of October 2020. Contest is open to all artists worldwide over 18 years of age. Only the face of a person or animal should be visible (single person, a group, or self-portrait). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. The Best of Show winning artwork will be displayed as the poster of the show. All wining artists (Merit Award & Honorable Mention) will receive a digital award certificate. $16 for 2 images of artwork. You may enter more than once. Deadline: October 20, 2020.

WHY ARE WE HERE?

What do you miss the most from the pre-COVID times? For many international artists whose regions have been influenced by the pandemic, the estrangement between people feels deepened than ever since the in-person performances and gigs are being canceled and postponed. You may feel stuck at the current stage with no place to showcase your works and you may desire the quality communications with artists who are sharing your emotions. Therefore, the B·O·N·D International Virtual Live Performance Festival is born. It aims to bring works from creators like you to broader audiences from all around the world; It also enables audiences to enjoy these performances while staying at home.

B·O·N·D: BEYOND OUR NEW DISTANCE

The literal meaning of “BOND” is a connection based on common interest, and creating social or emotional ties. Via this performance festival, we encourage you to reconceptualize the meanings of dimensions and virtuality, as well as rethink the essence of arts via online technologies. All disciplines of artworks are welcomed - whether they belong to traditional theatre art genres like play, opera, musical, improvisational theatre, physical theatre, dance theatre, puppetry, or it experiments with live cinema, performance art, and interactive installation art. With the social-distancing now being our new norm of life, we want to provide access and inspiration for crossing the boundaries of creating and viewing arts. We will also hold different events, including panel talks, round-table talks, and workshops throughout the festival.

Prizes Details: 

1. Some selected works will be provided with opportunities to perform in New York in the future. 2. Selected works will be reviewed by art critics and dramatic media in China and the US. 3. bluebee magazine is a new art magazine dedicated to emerging and rising artists.

We are keen to support Emerging and Raising Artists from around the world. Give them a platform to present a small glimpse of their artistic work. And isn’t there always room for another inspirational collection of visual soul food.
