MADC's Collective Thread Open Submission Call

MODArts Dance Collective (MADC) is elated to announce its seventh annual dance festival, Collective Thread, on March 17-19, 2022 7:30 PM; Location: TBA + Livestream & On Demand Option. The open submission call for women/womxn identifying choreographers of color is now - 11:59 PM EST on Monday, January 31, 2022. There is a $10 application fee to submit one piece and $20 to submit two pieces. Please note that the $10/$20 application fee goes towards the performance venue and production costs. Selection of performances for Opera Prima Festival XVIII

The Object of the Call

This call for entries is opened to national and international groups or artists that practice experimental theatre.

By experimental theatre we mean a work that truly experiments with the dramaturgy (interpreted as scenic composition), the actor, the spectator and the scenic space. 

In other words, experimental theatre is all that unconventional theatre pursuing: 

the autonomy of scenic language from a written play; the redefinition of the scenic space; the reformulation of the role and the gaze of the spectator; an original actors' training; a link that connects the actors to the project of the company.

Invitation to participate

PARL invites performance art makers and groups to join 10 days research and development program in Ljubljana from 22 - 31 August 2022.

The program is open for performance art, devised theater, contemporary dance, intermedia projects and hybrid forms. PARL provides every participant a studio space and presentation venue.

PARL joins various creative practices, working methods and production models of leading Ljubljana based performance artists and producers. The course of work is focused on development of creative processes and research of performative strategies with daily feedback and training, three-day seminar, and workshops.
