Art of the Spectacle

This exhibition explores the intersection of fashion, circus, and stagecraft, capturing the drama, elegance, and eccentricity of the performing arts. Art of the Spectacle creates a visual celebration of performance, where costume, movement, and theatrics take center stage.

Artists are invited to submit works that embrace the bold, the theatrical, and the extraordinary. Whether inspired by vintage vaudeville, avant-garde fashion, or the magic of the circus, this show seeks artwork that transforms the gallery into a stage, where every piece tells a story.

Co-curaed by Josh Sauceda—Creative Director, Producer, and Photographer—and Karley Wasaff—Choreographer, Creative Director, and Prducer—this showcase invites digital visionaries from around the world to submit work that pushes the boundaries of how we measure worth: through the body, through technology, and through the shifting lens of society.

VIII International Bad Video Art Festival OPEN CALL

The VIII edition of BAD VIDEO ART FESTIVAL will take place in January/February 2026 (exact dates will be announced later) on Visualcontainer TV, the platform for video art since 2009. The International Bad Video Art Festival (BVAF) is an independent, artist-run initiative. The Festival has been held since 2017. Video artists and B-movie fans Natalia Monakhova and Andrey Slaschilin once decided to explore whether something like bad video art exists. It is well known that B-movies have long since formed a unique cultural niche with their own heroes and fans. In other art sectors, however, the concept of “bad” has not been explored as actively.

Follow Fluxus – Grant 2025/26

In cooperation with the Hessian state capital, the Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden has been awarding the grant “Follow Fluxus – Fluxus and the Consequences” annually since 2008. With seventeen artists supported to date, the aim of the grant is to promote international artists whose work engages with the transnational, multicultural, and interdisciplinary art movement Fluxus. With the legendary event series “Fluxus International Festival of Very New Music” held in Wiesbaden in 1962, a central foundation was laid for the ongoing international reception of Fluxus.
