The Call for Entries for the next edition is now open!

L’Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival, celebrates its 31st edition. We offer filmgoers, filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that value creative freedom, diversity, innovation, commitment and thought-provoking reflection.

L’Alternativa will take place from 14-24 Nov. 2024.

We accept features and shorts, fiction, nonfiction, essay, animation and experimental from Spain and worldwide. Cash prizes.

THE NORTH MANCHESTER FILM FESTIVAL: YOUR VOICE [FILM MAKERS CALL OUT]

BRIEF

We’re looking for ten film-makers with personal connections to the North of Manchester to submit their work. Films should respond to the theme ‘Your Voice: Speak Up, Share Your Story, Address Local Matters.’

You’re encouraged to express yourself, narrate your experiences, or shed light on community issues. Whether in documentary or fictional form, the creative direction is entirely up to you, allowing your imagination to take the lead.

Each film should be a maximum of 15 minutes in length.

Pustnik Screenwriters Residency: Call for Submissions

The call for applications for the tenth anniversary edition of Pustnik International Screenwriting Residency, which will take place between 17–24 September 2024 at a remote location in Romania, is now open. The extended deadline for submission of applications is March 27.

The Pustnik Screenwriters Residency is a retreat for filmmakers who are working on their first feature films. Besides dedicated writing time, participants will have the opportunity to meet script consultants and established producers who can provide feedback on their projects. Residents and guests also take part in common working sessions and screenings of their own work. We encourage them to offer each other feedback and nurture a generous spirit of support.

Open call for an artist to explore research in microbiology

The Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib) is pleased to announce this first open call for the ARTcib SciArt Residency at three academic partners of the acib academic partner network. With this open call we aim at opening up the academic as well as industry-related research at acib to a dialogue with artists and to push the boundaries of the inter- and transdisciplinary discourse in the field.

Movies for the Apocalypse

OPEN CALL!!!

Send us your shorts (under 20min) of any genre on the theme of apocalypse (the current one, theme can be creatively interpreted). We are selecting films for a post-apocalyptic time capsule, to show people of the future what our lives were like before the (maybe) impending Big Collapse.

Low/no budget films will be prioritised.

We are accepting submissions on a rolling basis from now until April. In-progress work and/or proposals will also be considered! If you have something you think works, you can DM either of us on instagram ( @gisela.mulwinda or @agathapple ), or email us at agatha.scaggiante@gmail.com.

The selected films will screen at Movies for the Apocalypse this May in the SET Woolwich Vault!
