The Saari Residence is pleased to announce an Open Call for the 2025 Residency Program. We welcome applications from professional artists for the international Saari Residence in 2025. The residency periods for individual artists are two months long, and the residency includes a work grant in addition to accommodation. Artists groups can apply for group residencies in the summer of 2025.

In Conversation With Open Call

We are now accepting submissions for our 3rd annual Women's History Month exhibit, which will take place in March! This year's title and theme is, In Conversation With... and we welcome all works that explore women's ability to exist in multiple spaces, the ways in which we communicate, and our adaptability.
 
This call is open to all female artists 18 years and older, and artwork can be of any medium. Do not hesitate to apply as we encourage and welcome submissions from all experience levels.

Open Call for projects related to ‘palimpsest’, layering, and erasure

Palimpsest Projects is a newly emerging not-for-profit contemporary artists’ and writers’ group based nomadically around London. We’re going to be curating at least 12 weeks’ worth of exhibitions in London this year, and we’re seeking submissions and expressions of interest around our overarching theme of ‘palimpsest’. Historically, a palimpsest has been a sheet with elements of erasure and rewriting, where traces of previous writing still remain. We’re evoking ‘palimpsest’ conceptually and aesthetically, where your contribution can be of any medium that involves levels of meaning, types of style, or other changes that build upon each other and showcase revision.

June Bingham New Playwright Commission

June Bingham New Playwright Commission: This commission opportunity provides resources and support toward the creation and development of a new play by early-career women/femme and/or non-binary storytellers. The opportunity will culminate in a 60-90 minute 2-person play that will be workshopped and presented as a reading for an audience at L&IC’s Fall Retreat in September of 2024. Applications are now open and will close at 11:59 pm EST on 1/31/2024. Due to the volume of submissions, no deadline extensions or late applications will be accepted.

The total remuneration for this Commission will be $3,000; housing, meals, and travel for the retreat are also provided. Schedule and deadlines will be at the discretion of the commission recipient and the program director.
