VISUAL ART OPEN AWARDS 2023 - Artist Call - £10,000 Prize Fund

All UK & International artists are invited to apply for the Visual Art Open Award 2023. Presented by the Visual Artists Association, the prestigious VAO 2023 Award is now celebrating its eighth edition and offers an increased Prize Fund worth £10,000.

· All mediums across 5 categories: Painting/Mixed Media/Printmaking - Illustration/Drawing - Sculpture – Photography/Digital - Young Artist (16 – 24 years old).

· Entry cost - £20 for 1st submission and £10 per additional artwork £15.00 for entrants under 24 years and £10 per additional artwork.

· The award is open to both amateur and professional artists of all levels.

FLAD / AiR 351 Grant 2023

The program includes access to an individual studio and to communal spaces at AiR 351´s headquarters. AiR 351 involves residents in its general activities program: integration in the local artistic community, technical and curatorial assistance, possibility of working within AiR 351 partners network, studio visits, open studios and public presentations, when possible. AiR 351 will do its best to help the recipients find suitable accommodation.

Intersectional 5.0

prideART Berlin e.V. is hosting our 5th annual pride-month exhibition Intersectional. Intersectionality in our context relates to giving a platform to LGBTQIA+ artists from all backgrounds an opportunity to show their work as part of a group exhibition. We seek artists who create visual art in all media types and from various social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Our only pre-requisite for inclusion in the exhibition is that the artists identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, the work does not necessarily need to have an LGBTQIA+ social commentary theme. 

Superpresent Summer Issue

Superpresent is seeking submissions on the theme Inquiries.  Superpresent is an arts and literature magazine that places equal emphasis on literature and visual arts.  We are looking for all forms of visual art as well as essays, short stories, flash fiction, and poetry. 

2023 Peggy Doole National Small Works Competition and Exhibition

Juror: LuLen Walker-Art Curator at Georgetown University, where she oversees the University’s fine art holdings and collaborates with University’s fine art holdings and collaborates with faculty in teaching various subjects across the curriculum.

Hand-pulled prints, screen prints, digital prints, photographs, and three-dimensional work with print components.

• Original, editioned, and archivally printed and framed. (We accept editions of one,

that is, 1/1, of monoprints, etc.)

• For two-dimensional work, image may be NO LARGER THAN 120 square inches, with

framed size NO LARGER THAN 250 square inches. Three-dimensional work may be no

more than 250 cubic inches needing no frame.

Open Call: Publication in the art magazine. Issue 2, Connections

What we are looking for:
This issue is devoted to connections – international, personal, and family. It is about relationships, societal statuses, conflicts, and different perceptions.

In this edition, we will gather artists of all genders and from around the world.

The magazine will publish interviews and the works of 24 selected artists.
