RAICES (Roots)

RAICES (ROOTS), a national juried art exhibition that celebrates the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Latinx/e and Hispanic communities. The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition welcomes artists from all backgrounds to submit artwork representative of the diversities, experiences, cultures, and traditions of the Latinx/e and Hispanic communities in the diaspora. Artists are not required to be of Hispanic heritage. All creations must be unique and original.

We welcome Natalia Viera Salgado, Curatorial Consultant and Associate Curator at the National Academy of Design, as show juror.

Dear Art Enthusiasts, We are delighted to invite you to our special artistic event, "Letters from the 100th Year," which we will commemorate with great significance on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. This unique event aims to portray a historical narrative that stretches from Turkey's struggle for independence to the declaration of the Republic, highlighting fundamental rights and freedoms, all through an artistic perspective. We eagerly anticipate every art enthusiast's contribution to creating letters and artworks that reflect the achievements, values, women's rights, and equality of the Republic of Turkey.

Shaping Our Future Through Art & Advocacy: Miami

Art is a powerful tool for education, communication, and catalyzing positive change. To highlight how art and policy can work together for a brighter, more equitable Sunshine State, Florida Policy Institute (FPI) will host an art showcase and panel discussion on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Historic Lyric Theater in Miami, FL.

The art showcase will highlight creators whose art connects to policy, history, advocacy, racial equity, a vision of shared prosperity, or other themes from The Florida Timeline. The panel discussion will bring together artists and researchers to share analytical and artistic perspectives on the past, the present, and future of our policy decisions.

Print Studio & Gallery. La Maldita Estampa is a space for creation, research, training and dissemination of contemporary printmaking.

We specialise in etching and relief printmaking, screen printing, lithography, photoetching, mokulito, collagraph and bookbinding among others.

Call for Artists for International Print Magazine in November 2023

We're excited to share the opportunity to be featured in the November edition of our International Art Magazine for Emerging Artists, publishing date November 2023.

Artists will be given at least 2 pages (spread) in the publication that will feature at least 2 of their works. 
The artist's biography, statement, website and social media handle will be included in the feature.

We will also select in between 4 and 12 artists to be interviewed. The interviews can be done via Zoom (transcribed by us afterwards) or in written form, and are in between 4 and 10 pages long.

Get featured in an international art magazine (online & print), be part of our art blog and share your unique story + get the chance to be included in our permanent online exhibition.

We are looking for colorful, cheerful, empowering visual art (painting, mixed media, sculpture, digital, photography ...). Unfortunately, we cannot accept video.

Everyone is welcome to apply, regardless of age, gender, background and we welcome artists in all states of their career and creative path.
