Jaffee & Hall Emerging Choreographer Award Submissions Now Open

At Dance Kaleidoscope, we believe the best way to strengthen our future is to build upon our distinguished past. Therefore, we have created the JAFFEE & HALL EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHER AWARD to honor the outstanding creative leadership of Cherri Jaffee, Artistic Director from 1977 to 1991, and Ginger Hall, Cherri’s Co-Artistic Director from 1985 to 1991.

Cherri and Ginger made it their mission to bring world-class contemporary choreography to Indianapolis audiences. Their ability to identify emerging talent brought Ohad Naharin (Batsheva Dance Company) and Lynne Taylor-Corbett (choreographer for the movie Footloose and the Broadway shows Titanic and Swing!) to our community, as well as many other sought-after choreographers.

For our 10th anniversary, we’re putting Brussels in the spotlight. This year, we focus on the beating heart of the city: ‘la Grand Place’ and the entire surrounding UNESCO perimeter. In collaboration with The City Hall, we are launching an additional open call for photographers who want to capture the soul of this iconic part of Brussels.

‘La Grand Place’ is a place where history, tourism, commerce, nightlife, and everyday Brussels reality constantly intertwine. From the stately guild houses to the lively alleyways where languages and cultures intersect, from early morning deliveries to the nighttime glow of cafés and neon lights: this corner of Brussels lives 24/7.

We invite you to capture that life.

Spotlight on Hip Hop Artists

Occhi Arts & Entertainment is inviting Hip-Hop musicians, dancers, and spoken word artists to collaborate on a series of special interview features celebrating the music, dance, and culture of Hip-Hop.

We’re looking for artists whose work reflects contemporary Hip-Hop culture while carrying forward its most progressive, community-building roots—expression that uplifts, challenges, and connects people across the diaspora. Our platform is dedicated to celebrating the arts, including Hip-Hop as a movement of creativity, social consciousness, and cultural pride.

From Data to Relational Direction: Evaluative Practices for Cultural Leaders

Over six days, participants will engage in a dynamic, practice-based learning environment designed to build leadership capacity through evaluation and data strategy. Guided by hands-on labs, peer exchange, reflexive praxis and case studies, they will experiment with tools that support strategic decision-making, team engagement, and organizational learning.

The program emphasizes real-world application, encouraging participants to challenge assumptions and refine internal systems. By the end, each participant will leave with a customized roadmap to embed evaluative practices across their organization—advancing accountability, responsiveness, and long-term resilience in the cultural sector.
