About:
Inspired by the story of Kira and the return of the Tokyo Spark, the Tokyo Design Awards honors outstanding design, visionary ideas, and the brilliant individuals behind them. This international design competition celebrates creativity across key disciplines — from Architectural Design, Interior Design, and Product Design to innovative fields like Character & Pop Design and other emerging creative categories.

We invite designers, studios, and creative professionals from around the world to submit work that redefines how we live, move, and experience the world through design. From breakthrough concepts to legacy-defining achievements, this is where exceptional design — and the minds behind it — are seen, evaluated, and celebrated.

Open Call: Textile & Craft Studio Tour in Kyoto, Japan (Nov 24–26, 2025)

We invite designers and creative professionals from around the world to join a 3-day immersive tour visiting textile studios in the countryside of Kyoto Prefecture, Japan.

Organized in collaboration with Mori Wo Oru (“Weaving the Forest”) and Commoning Studio, this program explores how local materials, landscapes, and traditional craftsmanship continue to inspire contemporary creations. Participants will meet local artisans, visit production sites surrounded by nature, and reflect on the connections between craft, culture, and the environment.

Transportation from Kyoto Station, accommodation, guide fees, and all experience fees will be covered by the organizer. (Please note that travel expenses to and from Japan are not included.)

The French Design Awards is an international competition that honours and acknowledges the zenith of creative genius in interior, architectural, product, packaging, fashion, and landscape design. This prestigious award recognises and celebrates architects, interior, product, packaging, fashion and landscape designers who are not only shaping the environment, but also reimagining how design is perceived, inhabited, and its interaction with spaces.
