Resonance - Virtual Exhibition & Print Catalogue

Resonance - Virtual Exhibition & Print Catalogue

Warnes Contemporary x Visionary Art Collective
Deadline June 1, 2025

We are excited to announce an open call for Resonance, our upcoming virtual exhibition and print catalog that explores the deep, often unspoken ways art connects us to something beyond ourselves.

The word resonance comes from the Latin resonare, meaning "to re-sound" or "to sound together." In music, it describes the reverberation of tones. In physics, it refers to the amplification of energy. In life—and in art—resonance is the stirring of emotion, memory, and meaning. It is the unseen echo that lingers long after the initial encounter.

Guest Room: Jo. Trujillo Argüelles & María Santoyo

Guest Room aims to inspire collaboration and creative exchange. In this edition, Jo. Trujillo Argüelles, former Director of the Centro de la Imagen, partners with María Santoyo, director of PHotoESPAÑA.

Together, they introduce the theme for your submissions:

"What (Dis)Appears"

"What do you overlook when you look?
And what do we miss together?
Why does it remain unseen?"

As in the darkroom, between developer and fixer, photography is a space for manifesting the latent and fixing imaginaries and narratives. We propose this edition of Guest Room as a field of visibility that reveals something previously unseen or unconscious – an oversight, whether personal or social – or that allows what was latent or hidden to emerge.

EXHIBIT IN SOHO, NYC - GROWING TAKES TIME

GROWING TAKES TIME is a real-life video game disguised as a dance performance — where the audience doesn’t just watch the world change, they help build it.

Hosted by Kinetics With Karley and Josh Sauceda of ARCHIV3, this participatory performance invites artists to contribute visual works that explore growth, collaboration, tenderness, and tension. Rooted in anxiety-driven childhood games and collective problem-solving, GTT transforms relational conflict into choreography — and we’re looking for visual art that speaks to these same themes.

Selected works will be exhibited in the immersive space during the performance on May 24, 2025 in NYC.

A $100 curation fee applies to selected works.
