Want to work at a classical music festival?
We’re putting together a crack team for this year’s summer festival and we’re looking for Event Managers, Artists Managers and Event Assistants

Set in the stunning scenery of the Lake District, you’ll join a great team of festival staff and volunteers working to deliver a whole mixture of live classical concerts, masterclasses, online streaming, workshops and cross-arts events including dance, visual art and silent film.

From stage management, box office, and front of house duties to working with the UK’s finest musicians and more. This is an ideal opportunity for those wishing to gain experience working hands-on in the arts sector. Applicants are required to be available for the entirety of the period covering from lunchtime Tuesday 25 July until the afternoon of Monday 7 August 2023.

Event Manager and Artist Manager positions are paid posts, while Event Assistants are on a voluntary basis. However, for all team members accommodation and breakfast will be provided at the University of Cumbria campus in Ambleside throughout this period, expenses are paid, and volunteer roles receive a daily food allowance.

All team members will also receive first aid training (gaining a qualification valid for 3 years and transferrable to other posts).

A knowledge of classical music, having a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are all preferable, but not necessarily essential. Please include this information in your application.

This role offers you the opportunity to be responsible for:
• Contacting all artists, and agents, prior to their arrival, confirming arrival times and transportation
• Meeting and greeting artists on arrival
• Attending all pre-concert rehearsals and providing assistance to the artists
• Providing a liaison point between the artists and Production Manager on technical issues
• Ensuring artists are provided with necessary transport to and from venues (where agreed)
• Liaising with the Event Manager on performance times to ensure concerts run to schedule
• Acting as Stage Manager for performances, including stage set-up
• Completing PRS forms for each concert and submitting them to the Festival Administrator
• Providing support and assistance to other members of the Festival Team to ensure the smooth andefficient running of the festival

• Undertaking responsibility for Front of House management, managing Event Assistants andvolunteers/patrons
• Ensuring the smooth running of all LDSM events
• Preparing door sales Box Office points in advance of the arrival of Box Office staff
• Ensuring LDSM meets its Health & Safety obligations
• Preparing comprehensive documents for Front of House staff at all venues
• Briefing all Front of House staff, including staff and volunteers, on their specific duties
• Providing high-quality customer service and dealing with any enquiries, complaints andemergencies
• Greeting sponsors and VIPs
• Counting and documenting all Front of House sales
• Managing all Front of House cash floats
• Assisting the Box Office in second-counting all ticket and Front of House takings
