Ballet des Amériques Company Audition for Professional Dancers

Ballet des Amériques is looking for classically and modern trained dancers – men and women – for its professional dance company. Candidates should also be comfortable with neoclassical, contemporary and modern techniques and works. Knowledge of African and Afro-Caribbean dance styles would be advantageous.

Ballet des Amériques engages dancers who grasp and appreciate the pedagogical, aesthetic and ethical principles of its organization as whole and who are willing to commit to their realization in the dance company.

Ballet des Amériques is looking for individuals with artistic sensitivity and a high level of commitment to the arts as a whole.

All applicants must have the proper documentation to work in the U.S. (i.e: work permit, Green card, U.S. Citizen, etc.)

 

If hired, candidate will be asked to fill out a W-4 and sign a contract.

Note: The studios are very easily accessible by public transportation and are not located “upstate.” Ballet des Amériques is a quick 30 minute ride from Grand Central on the express Metro North train — easier to travel to from the city than parts of Brooklyn or Queens. The Ballet des Amériques building is conveniently located right next to the platform of the Port Chester Metro North Railroad train station.

 

 About the Company

 

Carole Alexis and her surging professional dance company Ballet des Amériques, founded in 2011, have garnered continuous press and television coverage, and both have received numerous awards, including official government proclamations honoring Ballet des Amériques as the “Best Ballet Company” and “Westchester’s Premier Dance Company.” After the successful completion of nearly 100 public performances — including performances at their theater of residence, the historic Tarrytown Music Hall, the United Nations Headquarters, Florence Gould Hall, Festival de Fort-de-France in Martinique, and sold-out performances at the Emelin Theatre in New York — Carole Alexis and Ballet des Amériques are under contract to tour internationally in 2020.

While this is a company audition, all dancers auditioning on this date will also be considered for entrance into our highly selective Ballet des Amériques trainee program created specifically for dancers on the verge of professional careers (ages 17 to 27).
