The commissioned works will be performed in a studio setting as part of the Trainee Program Observation Day. The selected choreographers will participate in an intensive-format residency. During the residency, the selected choreographers will each be provided with 5 days with the trainees to create, develop, and set new choreographic material. The chosen choreographers will each receive an honorarium of $1,200. The top finalists will be showcased on BDT’s website and social media.

“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”

― Albert Camus

  • GALLERY 44 invites artists to delve into the multifaceted nature of play and its significance in our lives. While play is often associated with leisure and frivolity, it also serves as a profound mode of exploration, expression, and engagement with the world around us. Artists are encouraged to reflect on how playfulness intersects with themes such as identity, politics, social justice, technology, environment, and the human condition.

  • All media accepted.

  • International Open call.

New Symbols

ARC -Art Revisited Collective extends an Open Call to visual artists all over the world to submit their artworks so as they participate in the New Symbols exhibition. The exhibition will be held at Luminous Eye Arts & Photography Gallery, Acropolis Area, Athens, Greece, and it will also be accessible online.

Gateway Public Artwork

The Town of Ashland, Virginia seeks qualifications from artists/artist teams for a new large-scale public artwork to welcome residents and visitors to the entrance of our historic downtown. The site is highly visible as it serves as the primary entrance to downtown and is proximal to two major east coast roadways, Interstate 95 and US Route 1.

Ideal works of art would create an arch or archway effect to welcome visitors and provide passersby in vehicles safe viewing access. We are not seeking a typical gateway piece, but something creative and dynamic that reflects Ashland's welcoming, quaint, and quirky culture.

  • Deadline to apply: Monday, March 25th, 2024 at 11:59pm Eastern

  • Budget: $60,000
