Call for Artists

Terre da Film Festival

THEME

The historical period in which we live is inevitably leading us to ask ourselves again who we are and where we put ourselves in the world. In addition to asking ourselves who we are today, we must also ask ourselves what our relationship is with others and how to include them in our lives.

At its first edition, Terre da Film Festival focuses on the theme of the IDENTITY.

Identity as choice.
Identity as a mirror.
Identity as a departure or a new point of arrival.
Identity of a place or a dear event.
Identity as a condition of perpetual searching.

Roadmap to Joy

Roadmap to Joy is a forthcoming public art exhibition curated by Atiba T. Edwards and Mz. Icar in partnership with The Culture Rooms, FOKUS and Arts and Crafts Holdings. This exhibition will approach the notion of joy as a journey. How do we get there as a collective? As individuals? And what does it look like? What does it feel like?

Queer Identities Open Call

Themes of identity are highly celebrated amongst the exhibitions at IC Contemporary, and with our close connection to the queer community, ICC would like to showcase more artwork that speaks to queer experiences and identity.

Each year our gallery is going to host a queer exhibit and we want you to be a part of it! This current call is for the group or solo exhibition that explores Queer Identities.

In the past, our Queer Identities exhibit was a survey on the subliminal thought processes many members of the LGBTQIA+ community experience while living in a world that revolves around heteronormativity. It mainly focuses on queer experiences of minority stress and the repercussions of the innate pressure for them to follow feminine and masculine norms.
