Process and Material

Process and Material: April 17 - May 9, 2020

Exhibition Description: Oftentimes, artists pursue their unparalleled originality and one of a kind making process through their own inventive and unique adaptations of traditional techniques. The processes reflect the artists’ insights and experiences in creation, and it becomes a work of art itself. Other times, everyday objects and raw elements can challenge many makers to push the boundaries of the common perception and expectation of the material. It is also through the artists’ eyes that we see the hidden potential of the material.

Suffra-Jetting

Suffra-Jetting: March 13 - April 4, 2020

It’s been 100 years since women were given the right to vote in the United States. In this exhibition, WMG is soliciting work by female identified artists that represent the experience of being a woman and the nuanced (and overt) ways that being female supports or subverts your daily life.  Artwork should reflect your narrative experience – your story of being female.  We’re searching for a variety of voices to share triumphs and setbacks that highlight gains made or what is missing in our society in terms of equality between the sexes. What is your story and how is it woven into a struggle for equality over 100 years old that has only definitively delivered the right to vote?

All About Photo Awards 2020 - The Mind's Eye

Our 5th edition of the All About Photo Awards invites photographers from around the world to submit their best work for consideration. In reference to Henri Cartier-Bresson's photo essay, The Mind's Eye investigates the depth and thoughts behind each image.

"To take photographs means to recognize - simultaneously and within a fraction of a second - both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one's head, one's eye and one's heart on the same axis".
Henri Cartier-Bresson

Winners will receive $10,000 in cash awards, extensive press coverage and global recognition.
The grand prize is $5,000, the 2nd prize is $2,000, the 3rd prize is $1,500, the 4th prize is $1,000 and the 5th prize is $500!

Linger an exhibition of Sitting Places

16 May – 9 September 2020

Following on from the hugely successful summer 2019 Art Unbound exhibition, the Rococo Garden, in Painswick, Gloucestershire, is staging ‘Linger’ – an exhibition of ‘sitting places’ – for summer 2020. We are putting a call out to artists, designer-makers and artisans for imaginative approaches to the creation of garden seating. The work will complement the spirit of the Garden and encourage appreciation of its character. As such ‘Linger’ will be an invitation for visitors to take the weight off their feet and while away time as they soak up the beauty of their surroundings.
