Theatr Clwyd: Three Public Art Open Calls

Theatr Clwyd and studio three sixty are delighted to announce three open call opportunities for public art commissions.

Theatr Clwyd is Wales’s leading producing theatre, and one of only four theatres in the UK that builds sets, makes costumes and creates props in-house. The venue is currently undergoing major redevelopment, with the aim of creating a more sustainable, inspiring and inclusive building, where world-class art can thrive for generations to come. Public art is at the heart of plans for the new building.

We are currently inviting applications from artists, theatre-makers, writers, and collaborative design teams for three specific projects:

Art and Color 365 Magazine People/Figural Art Competition

It’s part of Art and Color 365’s mission to celebrate artists for the unique perspectives, amazing skills, beautiful imagery, and creativity they contribute to the world. We do this through regular feature stories in our magazine about significant artists and with monthly art competitions that showcase artists to bring them greater attention and offer broader outreach for their work. Art and Color 365, a bi-monthly digital and print art magazine, announces its 2023 Figural/People Art Competition. Entries will be accepted through November 12, 2023.

Perception

We invite artists from around the world to participate in our upcoming exhibition on the theme of "Perception." This open invitation seeks to show different interpretations and perspectives on how we perceive the world around us. Through various forms of visual and conceptual expression, we aim to explore the multifaceted nature of perception, challenging conventional notions and broadening our understanding and approach to life.

Group Show: Semi-Conscious

A group show in November at the Islington Arts Factory in London. Open to international entrants. Theme is semi-consciousness: both the representation of semi-conscious figures (sleep, death, inebriation, etc.) and the internal experience of semi-consciousness (surrealism, dream states, allegory, mystery).
