"Riding Through History" Juried Exhibition

The City of Santa Clarita (City) is inviting artists to submit artwork for consideration for our upcoming “Riding Through History” juried exhibition, which will be on view at the Newhall Community Center. We are seeking original artwork in any medium that celebrates Santa Clarita’s rich cowboy heritage. Artwork should resonate with the spirit of the cowboy era, blending the traditional theme with modern artistic expressions.

Exhibition Dates: March 26 - June 19, 2024
Artwork Drop-off: March 26, 2024, 10:30-11:00am
Artwork Pick-up: June 19, 2024, 10:00-10:30am

Nature's Canvas | Open Call

'Nature's Canvas' is an online juried exhibition, which will be presenting 3 awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The deadline for ‘Nature’s Canvas’ is April 15th and the entry fee is $6 for 3 images. You can find more details and how to apply on our website https://www.azaleaartscommunity.com 

Open to artists 18+ working in all mediums, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media and video. Applicants are not restricted on number of entries. 

At Large, Animals on the Loose

Submit your art and photography of animals on the loose, in the wild, unleashed, outdoors, in the water or the sky! 2D and 3D artwork and photography desired.

For this exhibition, submit your best animal art and photography work that shows us the spirit and idea of being free, uncaged, on the loose, and at large. Animals can be wild, feral, domestic, or anything in between. 

All entries must be the original artwork of the submitting artist. Artwork must not have been accepted to one of our previous shows. 

Quick note: We are replacing "Special Merit Awards" with "Finalists" to more accurately describe the caliber of artwork in that category. We are repeatedly floored by the quality of entries received and wish to honor our artists appropriately.

North of the 45th: 17th Annual Upper Midwest Juried Exhibition

North of the 45th is an annual juried exhibition of artists living in the geographical area

north of the 45th parallel in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. The 2024 exhibition

will be juried by Shawn Powell and Annie Wischmeyer based in Kent, Ohio. Powell is an

artist, associate professor, and the graduate coordinator at Kent State University. Wischmeyer is a

curator, writer, and curatorial consultant for Curated Storefront in Akron, Ohio. Together they run Gazebo

Gallery bringing in artists from around the country to stage ephemeral outdoor exhibitions.

 

Eligibility: Open to residents of Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin,

18+ who are living north of the 45th parallel with up to +/- 1 degree of this area.

 

METAMORPHOSIS

A juried exhibition exploring our planet's ever-evolving landscape and the profound transformations occurring. We seek works exploring the impact of climate change, urbanization, and technology on our planet's delicate ecosystems and humanity's role in shaping the world.

The juror will develop an exhibition from a selection of works entered that reflect upon the transformations occurring in our natural surroundings contemplate our planet's past, present, and future. This exhibition aims to encompass various perspectives and interpretations of the changing landscape. Any artwork that addresses environmental themes or depicts the interaction between humans and their surroundings is eligible for consideration.
