KAJ Gallery Contemporary Art of Naples, Florida is offering video artists the opportunity to win (up to 24) 10 second tv spots on the Naples CBS affiliate television station (Wink TV). International artists are encouraged to apply. It will be determined at the time of judging if artists are awarded more than 1 commercial spot.

The theme is simply TelevisiArt, and any form of creative video will be considered.

Into The Art Exhibition

Into the Art is a exhibition dedicated to creating cohesive environments for all forms of art that people can fully immersive themselves into in all aspects, from sound, sight, smell, and emotionally. We welcome artist of all disciplines to apart of this grand exhibition held at The Greenpoint Gallery, 390 McGuinness Blvd, Brooklyn, NY from November 15 -22, 2019 with a opening and closing reception. We are looking for artist in the following categories whose work fits within the themed rooms shown in the application. It is open to artist 18 years or older in the US. Please find the category you would like to submit your work to and read the details. 

2D Art:
We are looking for 50 or more 2D artist for the full length of the exhibition. All artwork must be age appropriate since all days excluding opening and closing reception will have people 17 & under attending. We do not take a commission of the artist artwork. If someone is interested in you work we will provide them with your contact information for them to reach you directly. 2D art fee is $15 per piece submitted. All artwork must be no larger than 36x36. Maximum of 5 submission for review and a maximum of (3) will be selected for the exhibition. After reviewing your submission we will send a confirmation email with your chosen method of payment and the chosen pieces for the exhibition. In the comments section of the application please state the number of pieces you want in the show.

3D Art:
We are looking for 8 or more 3D artist for the full length of the exhibition. All artwork must be age appropriate since all days excluding opening and closing reception will have people 17 & under attending. We do not take a commission of the artist artwork. If someone is interested in you work we will provide them with your contact information them to reach you directly. 3D art fee is $20 for (1) submission per artist. Maximum size of artwork to fit on a podium must be equal to or less than 20" in width and 36" high. You can submit up to (5) pieces for review. After reviewing your submission we will send a confirmation email with your chosen method of payment and the chosen piece for the exhibition.

Musicians/Performers/ Poets:
We have (20) spots available for musicians, performers, and poets for 30 minute slots. The first (8) to apply will either have a time reserved for opening or closing night. All others will have a designated day to perform throughout the span of the exhibition. All that we ask from performers is for you to sell two tickets to the exhibition to assist with rental of the space and equipment. Ticket sales can be made before or the day of your performance. All performers will have an opportunity to collect donation from the audience during and after their performance. Submission requires a sample video that best describe your performances and a image for the exhibition website. Maximum number of (5) members per group. If your performance is less than 30 minutes or more that 30 minutes please note it in the comments section along with any equipment required for your performance. After reviewing your submission we will send a confirmation email with the available days and times.

Art Vendors:
We are looking for 34 vendors for the exhibition. The first (4) to apply have the option of displaying on opening or closing night. Following that all other vendors will have a designated date during the duration of the exhibition to showcase their items. Your selected day will be based on that day's collection of items being displayed. All items on display must be no taller than 24" high from the the table and age appropriate since all days excluding opening and closing reception will have people 17 & under attending. A flat fee of $45 is required once approved. Please provide 2 to 5 images that best represents your merchandise. After reviewing your submission we will send a confirmation email with your chosen method of payment. Once payment is received your spot will be held and you will receive a notification for the day and location of your table 2 weeks prior to opening night.

* All 2D and 3D artist coming out of town are not required to attend opening or closing night. However, they must provide proper packaging for their artwork and a return label if they are unable to pick up their work after the show. Any artwork shipped to us will be handled with the utmost care once in our possession but we still recommend you get insurance on your packages.

Funded Exhibition Opportunity for New work

Locust Projects is currently running an OPEN CALL for Main Gallery exhibition proposals, with the aim of enabling local, national, and international visual artists to experiment with new ideas and media. We encourage artists to propose experimental, site-specific projects that are engaging and risk-taking that extend your practice in concept, scale, and/or scope. We encourage artists from all backgrounds and working in any medium looking to present experimental projects to apply. Proposals should include new installation based work that has never been presented before specifically designed for the Main Gallery.  Collectives and artist collaborations are encouraged to apply as long as the work is presented as a singular vision.
MAIN GALLERY OPPORTUNITY

Solo exhibition of new installation-based work created specifically for Locust Projects Main Space (approx. 1500 square feet)  *highlighted in green on the floorplan

Community engagement with the public through an activation (i.e. conversation, collaboration, performance)

MAIN GALLERY SUPPORT INCLUDES

 $5000-$10,000  Project Budget (may include but is not limited to: production/fabrication, equipment rental, materials, professional/technical support, installation/construction labor, assistants, shipping, de-installation) Budget determined based upon dates, scope and scale of project, feasibility.

 Artist WAGE Fee (approximately $1000)

 $1000 stipend towards flights and ground transport available to artists that live 150 miles away from Miami. (above and beyond travel expenses shall be applied to production budget)

Accommodation at the Locust Projects Residency house which is walking distance to the space

Basic infrastructure provided by Locust Projects includes access to existing tool and av equipment inventory, up to 20 hours preparator labor/assistance, signage, installation documentation, and promotional support.

 THE SELECTION PROCESS
The proposals are reviewed by a committee of artists that have previously exhibited at Locust Projects.  The committee rotates on a regular basis. 
The following criteria will be used during the review process:

Conceptual strength of the proposal

Strength of past work

Unique or innovative approach

Feasibility of proposed project

 Please keep in mind, we are not a traditional gallery space. If the exhibition could easily be presented in a traditional gallery setting or could be realized without the support of our organization, it is unlikely for us to consider your proposal. We do not host traveling exhibitions, retrospectives, or group shows. We are not a commercial gallery, we do not offer artist representation.
SUBMISSION REQUIRMENTS
A single PDF that is no more than 5mb which includes:
1.  Project description (max. 500 words)
2.  Project floorplan/rendering of proposed project (floorplan is available here and on our website)
3.  General artist statement (max. 250 words)
4.  CV or Resume
5.  Up to eight images of previous/related work
6.  Image details (title, year, medium, links to video work)

International Kuni-umi Manga World Cup

An international competition aimed at selecting outstanding manga & artistic works related to traditional Japanese stories and mythology, with a focus on the topic of Awaji Island. Artists from every country are invited to participate and show off their creative talents!

Participants in the competition can be selected for an award in the following categories:

Category 1: Awaji Island & Japan Heritage
General Award
Create a work which is focused on the Japanese heritage location, Awaji Island and its associated themes including the ‘Legend of Kuni-umi (from the                                        Kojiki)’ ‘Miketsukuni,’ ‘Ama,’ among others.

Hajimari no Shima Award
Create a work which is focused on the Awaji Island-themed RPG game Hajimari no Shima (soon to be released this year by the Japan Heritage Awaji Island Committee)

Category 2: Kojiki Nihonshoki Manyoshu Award
Create a work which is focused on regional traditions, stories, legends, and themes related to the ancient Japanese texts Kojiki, Nihonshoki, and Manyoshu.

The A3 Review Monthly Contests

The A3 Review is open to submissions inspired by their monthly contest themes.

Visit their Submittable page here for all the details. Traffic, Trees, and Tablets are some of their forthcoming themes.

Each month's two winning entries will appear in The A3 Review, a fold-out literary and art magazine published every six months. The two winning entries from each month, September 2019 - February 2020,  will make up the list of contributors to Issue 12. From this list, three overall winning entries will be chosen in March 2020. These three ultimate winners will receive cash prizes: 1st = £250, 2nd = £150, 3rd = £75 (approx $325, $195, $95). Issue 11 will appear in April 2020.

Writing: Up to 150 words for prose and poetry (title not included). Poems no longer than 30 lines.

Art: Must fit into an A6 panel. That's about 4" x 6" or 10 x 15cm. Please send as low-res in the first instance. If your work is accepted, we'll ask for a hi-res image.
