BRILLIANT ideas wanted: UK public invited to create artwork for leading light art festival

Artichoke, the producers of extraordinary large-scale events, have launched BRILLIANT, a £50,000 nationwide commissioning scheme for new works for the UK's leading light art event. Six awards will be made, with the works to be shown alongside those of internationally-renowned artists at Lumiere, which is commissioned by Durham County Council and takes place in Durham from Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 November 2021.

Royal Docks Team are inviting Expressions of Interest for an ambitious, live performance commission for family audiences in the Royal Docks in Autumn 2021. 

We are looking for ambitious and bold ideas that can creatively, and practically, deliver on our objectives to:

Position the Royal Docks as a place of innovation, making, ideas, and experimentation.

Actively involve, and feel relevant to, Royal Docks’ young people

Be inspired by, and rooted in, the people and place of the Royal Docks.

Support the wider Royal Docks creative community through sharing/show and tell opportunities.

Be inclusive and connect diverse communities.

The Gallery by MUI presents our first Open Art Call for the upcoming virtual exhibition, the little stories we tell ourselves. We would like to open the call to any kind of creative or artistic work that connects to the topic.

We define the little stories we tell ourselves as the realities we construct to comprehend life and create our identity. It can be understood, misunderstood, isolating or intimate. This call would like to gather digital artworks, pictures, videos, etc. that are able to represent the multifaceted worlds we create.

2021 Women in Dance Leadership Conference

2021 Women in Dance Leadership Conference is accepting submissions for work by female dance artists to present their work in Chicago, IL. Representatives from American Dance Festival, See Chicago Dance, and other festivals and directors will be in the audience of the conference activities. 

Submission type - Dance on film, Live Choreography on stage, Live Choreography for outdoor space, Scholarly Paper, and Panel Discussion

Submission Deadline – January 31, 2021 for Film, choreography, and scholarly papers/March 31, 2021 for Panel Discussions

Selection Confirmation Date – April 1, 2021 for Film, choreography, and scholarly papers/May 1, 2021 for Panel Discussion

Improper Walls calls for applications on the topic IN*AUDIBLE & NON*VISUAL, which will be examined in an exhibition, performances and workshops. All mediums and formats, scales and visions are welcome, especially AV installations and performances. The exhibition will take place at Improper Walls’ exhibition space, as well as in partner locations and public spaces. 

 

BUP Book Award

BLOW UP PRESS announces the second edition of BUP Book Award – a competition for all photographers around the world, regardless their age, gender or nationality – which goal is to promote photo book as a way of expression. We are looking for unique photo/visual art projects (not book dummies!) which are intended to be published as a book. No matter what technique you work in, no matter what subject you cover – let our jurors see your project and get it published as a book!

So if you believe your project is completed, don’t wait too long and submit it to the second edition of BUP Book Award contest!
