OPEN CALL : Echoes of Ice

In recognition of the United Nations' declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Glaciers' Preservation, we invite artists, musicians, writers, scientists, and all creative voices to contribute to an exhibition exploring our evolving relationship with Iceland's glaciers. This exhibition will be online and in person at Skaftafell National Park, a place deeply shaped by the dynamic forces of ice and time.

Exhibition Theme: What Was, What Is, What Could Be

Iceland’s glaciers have long been more than vast expanses of ice; they are storytellers, memory-keepers, and harbingers of change. This call seeks to showcase works that reflect on our collective connection to Iceland’s glaciers through three lenses:

Call for Proposals: Symposium on Prague Quadrennial history

The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ) announces a call for proposals for an international online symposium: 60 Years of PQ as a Meeting Place of Scenographic Worlds.

Taking place between 11–12 September 2025, the online symposium intends to open the discussion about PQ as a unique global phenomenon by foregrounding the local histories, national and regional contributions, and international collaborations that have shaped its identity since its beginnings. We would like to explore PQ’s role in three main areas:

Boundless Bound Symposium and Art Book Fair

The Boundless Bound Symposium and Art Book Fair is a two-day event hosted at James Madison University (JMU) in Fall 2025. It features public programs including a symposium, an art book fair, and hands-on workshops in letterpress and risograph printing etc. These activities support the production and exchange of both creative and scholarly works, with creative outputs such as zines, artist books, comics, graphic novels, and experimental prints.

Viridian Artists 33rd Annual International Juried Exhibition

Viridian Artists Gallery is having its 33rd international juried exhibition.  It will be Juried by Jim Kempner of Jim Kempner Fine Arts. Thirty artists will be selected with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes awarded.  Also, included will be a Director's Choice digital exhibit to be on view during the exhibition.  The deadline to submit is Tuesday, June 10th, 2025.  The exhibition will run from Tuesday, July 15th to Saturday, August 9th, 2025.  An opening reception will be on Thursday, July 17th from 6 to 8pm.  

June Open Call: Home

Our June Open Call, “Home," has been created by our 34 Gallery Team to generate discussion on positive safe spaces where we feel authentically ourselves. Previous Winners can be found on the Open Calls page of our website. Our initiative aims to channel the power of art to explore monthly mental health themes through art therapy.  This month, we are particularly interested in works related to stress, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) caused by economic hardship and/or a lack of personal safe spaces.

GHMP Art Book Fair: opencall

The fifth annual sales fair focusing on literature about art. Over the course of two days, it will offer a platform for galleries, art schools, internet portals, magazines, publishing houses, authors, book and fanzine creators, collectors and above all book lovers. The fair will include a varied accompanying programme for both children and adults. Entrance for visitors is free throughout the fair.
