Byrdcliffe Artist Residencies offer uninterrupted time and space for creatives in all disciplines. Our serene mountain community is 2.5 hours north of NYC in Woodstock NY with residencies open to individuals, teams, and couples at all stages of their career. Byrdcliffe’s AiR program is particularly beneficial to those who find it restorative to live in a community environment surrounded by natural beauty. Artists are invited to participate in optional programming such as open studios, wellness workshops, studio visits, field trips, and communal dinners, or are free to work in solitude during their entire stay.

5 Month Residents live in one of Byrdcliffe’s eight private cabins as an autonomous live/work space. Each cottage varies in its size and structure and is able to accommodate 1-2 people or couples. Individuals, couples, and collaborative and non-collaborative artist teams are encouraged to apply. Byrdcliffe unfortunately is unable to accommodate children at this time.  See complete cabin listings, including photos and a floorplan

We warmly invite all musicians, sound artists, sound engineers and artists from other disciplines that wish to develop a project specifically related to sound to participate in Activosónico-Experimental Sound Residencies, a program carried out by AADK Spain, with a focus on the relationship of sound and territory.

Activosónico residencies will take place in Centro Negra, the current headquarters of AADK Spain located in the town of Blanca, Murcia. They have been conceived to offer time and space for analysis and artistic research linked to music and sound, encouraging reflection upon the historical, cultural and geographical context of the region.

AADK Spain is an international artistic platform that opens up spaces for research and contemporary creation. With a focus set on experimental and creative processes, its primary interest is to explore the notions of body, territory, and spatiality through an interdisciplinary approach.

We look forward to your proposals.
