Residency

Mountain Air (Artist in Residency)

The Mountain AIR Program is an artist residency developed by the Art in the Libraries Program at WVU Libraries. Building on the pilot residency in 2025, this initiative connects artists with the rich environmental archives held at the West Virginia & Regional History Center (WVRHC) to inspire new creative work and public engagement. By focusing on collections that document decades of environmental activism, conservation efforts, industry impact, and citizen response, this pilot residency supports artistic interpretations that reveal the ecological story of West Virginia.

International Art Residency in Atlantic Canada incl. Private Studio and Chef prepared Meals

Every year KIRA awards 6 artists with a multi-week residency. Artists are provided with individual studio space, comfortable housing, two meals each day and live on a historic property in a beautiful seaside town. Artists should bring all supplies and materials needed for their creative process, to ensure availability of required supplies and provisions. As part of the residency, artists will be asked to engage with the community for up to six hours a week. These engagements will vary based on skills and interest and can include a partnership with Kingsbrae Garden which is located just steps away from the residence and studios.

Constellations ° Residency

UP Projects is partnering with the Royal Parks to offer a new, 6-month residency opportunity for an artist to be based at Greenwich Park, starting in January 2026.

The selected artist will receive free studio space at St Mary’s Lodge located within Greenwich Park as well as a fee of £22,000. The residency has been designed to support an artist to develop their socially engaged practice through creative community engagement.

The residency will suit an early to mid-career artist with a socially engaged practice, an understanding of and sensitivity to the barriers faced by the park’s underserved communities, and an understanding of the social and cultural value of urban green spaces.
