The deadline is July 18th, 2021. Applicants will be notified by or before August 1st.

Artists of any age from any country may apply. We accept solo artists as well as collaborating teams of up to three people. We are particularly interested in applicants whose practice involves a defined engagement with landscape, ecology, and or projects that employ historical or first-hand research of the 108 site. Please have your statement reflect this intention. If you have social practice or an interest in community engagement, this program may not be a good fit due to the isolated nature of our site.

Call to Artists: Collage as Street Art Residency

CALL TO ARTISTS

Collage as Street Art: Letting the Art Find Its Own Audience

A four-week, virtual/online residency with Kolaj Institute in July 2021

Deadline to apply: 20 June 2021

In this 4-week, project-driven collage residency, artists will delve into the history, methods and major artists of the “street art” movement with a particular emphasis on collage. Participants will endeavor to put some of those methods into practice, taking their collage art out into the streets. Documenting the entire process will be integral to the project, as the resulting work will be published in a Kolaj Street Krewe book to be announced at a later date.

Artistic call-out for residency June-November, 2021 in the south of Spain

For our first call-out, we are looking for artists, craftspeople, thinkers and creatives from all different fields to explore the theme: RE:imagine – anything to do with recycling, repurposing, redoing, restarting, etc.

We are purposefully keeping the theme as broad as possible, and encourage you to think as tangentially as possible. We are not looking for the same ol’ works, but instead want to encourage all our visiting creatives to challenge themselves into doing new things and exploring new forms.

We are particularly interested in people who wish to work with found objects and repurpose them, as we have a lot of objects in our junk yard, but we are open to all forms of creations: visual, performative, audible, theoretical, written, etc.
