Célia Hay was born in 1991 in Marseille. She lives and work in London. She graduated in 2016 from a Master in Contemporary Photography at Central Saint Martins, in London. Her work has been presented in various art centres including the Institute of Contemporary Arts of London, the Collection Lambert –Avignon’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the Pact Zollverein in Essen, the Kyoto Art Center, Montévidéo, in Marseille, and during ‘Plat(t)form 2016’ at Fotomuseum Winterthur. In 2013, she took part to a residency supervised by Antoine d’Agata at Atelier de Visu, in Marseille. She directed ‘The Last Gesture’ which was in the selection of the FID –Marseille’s International Film Festival– in 2016, and the BAFTA qualifying festival Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2018. Her film ‘And the River Walked with us’ (co-directed by Anne Vimeux) co-produced by the Institute of Contemporary Arts of London and Channel 4 Random Acts, premiered at the London Short Film Festival 2018. She just directed her first long-form film ‘Aphra and Aradia’, commissioned by the Institute of Contemporary Arts of London.
