We are currently looking for life and body painting models for a new Sketch and Art drawings club in New York.

Classes will be organized  every Tuesday, Tursday and Sunday afternoon and evening from 5pm to 7pm and from 9pm to 11pm.

Three life  models will pose on each art class and they will take turn posing fully undressed.

Two Bodypanting models will pose fully undressed on each bodypainting workshop while organic paint is applied on their bodies.

Rate per hour is subject to model evaluation and it goes from 50 to 80 $ per hour. Possibility to have one-off experience or freelance contract

TEACHING ARTIST IN DANCE & CREATIVITY

Position Description

Mark DeGarmo Dance is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1987 as Dynamic Forms, Inc. MDD has produced over 100 dances and 30 international tours involving cultural diplomacy and exchange with 13 countries including Latin America, Europe and Russia. Our education programs target NYC PreK-5 public school students and multicultural communities without dance arts education. The organization currently serves up to 1,000 students and 150 classroom teachers in 6 public elementary schools in 4 NYC boroughs and reaches 90,000 individuals annually across all programs. 

 

We seek dance teaching artists experienced working in multicultural PreK-5 NYC public schools and communities of color. The position is an excellent opportunity for passionate and skilled teaching artists to grow their professional teaching work over the longer term. Teaching Artists in Dance & Creativity will report to the Executive & Artistic Director with support from MDD administrative staff.

Responsibilities:  

  • Participate in Mark DeGarmo Dance’s annual, paid Professional Learning Program.
  • Design and organize age-appropriate skills-based and interdisciplinary programs of study (16 lessons) grounded in Dance Arts and the elementary curricula. 
  • Write projected and actual lesson plans, meeting notes and evaluations.
  • Implement MDD’s new PreK-5 curricula.
  • Facilitate collaborative team teaching with classroom teachers. 
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support Mark DeGarmo Dance's vision, mission, core values and programs. 
  • Be an ambassador for MDD and our programs in the field with our multicultural communities.

 Compensation: 

This is a 1- to 3-day per week artistic staff (W-2) position with payroll benefits to begin immediately. Compensation is competitive with NYC arts education organizations. Benefits include: paid professional development, paid disability payroll deduction, and travel reimbursement. This is a growth position with the potential to advance within the organization.

The Conservatory of Ballet des Amériques offers one of the best pre-professional ballet training and dance education programs in the greater New York area with the mission of qualifying its graduates to audition successfully with the world’s renowned dance companies.

Under the direction of Carole Alexis, students receive intensive training in ballet, modern and contemporary dance as well as a well-rounded dance education in a comprehensive curriculum-based program that also includes Character, Flamenco and Afro-Caribbean dance, acrobatics, music, anatomy, dance history and acting for dancers. 

Ballet des Amériques takes great pride in training students from beginner levels to advanced and professional levels.

Students of Ballet des Amériques and Carole Alexis have been accepted regularly to the prestigious summer programs at Paris Opera Ballet, Royal Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Juilliard as well as the renowned Varna International Ballet Competition. Alexis’ students have won many competitions and also held professional contracts with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ballet West and the English National Ballet, among others.

Ballet des Amériques is looking for classically and modern trained dancers – men and women – for its professional dance company. Candidates should also be comfortable with neoclassical, contemporary and modern techniques and works. Knowledge of African and Afro-Caribbean dance styles would be advantageous.

Ballet des Amériques engages dancers who grasp and appreciate the pedagogical, aesthetic and ethical principles of its organization as whole and who are willing to commit to their realization in the dance company.

Ballet des Amériques is looking for individuals with artistic sensitivity and a high level of commitment to the arts as a whole.
