My work is often drawn from experiences in my own life. I define my personality as hypersensitive, meaning I am often on high alert with my surroundings. This is both a blessing as well as a disadvantage. Whilst I tend to notice the beauty in the mundane, my mind can very quickly become overloaded. This body of work brings to surface real recorded dream imagery using the staged and constructed. A dream journal was kept for a number of weeks where I analysed Its content. The source of dream content is often complex,  symbols and themes are recognised to be moulded from subconscious thoughts and feelings in walking life.  Water, in particular, is thought to be a common indicator of our current emotional state; whether it is presented as calm, ferocious, contained or free-flowing. Through the construction of these scenes, I wanted to unveil how anxiety projects visually when at free rein during the unconscious state of sleep.
