About the role

ACMI is seeking a Curator to join our Programming team. The Curator will deliver an ambitious programme of home grown and internationally touring exhibitions that explores the people, process, and craft of screen culture. Drawing upon loans and licensed material from a diverse range of collections, they will craft compelling exhibition narratives to create engaging visitor experiences. This is a full-time ongoing role reporting to the Head Curator.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience developing and delivering major museum exhibitions combining original objects, interactivity, art and media into compelling experiential spaces.
  • In-depth knowledge of the history of the moving image and screen culture, with expertise in one or more of our subject matter areas.
  • Demonstrated track record of moving image curatorial practice including research, writing and professional proof-reading skills to deliver high-quality audience-centric experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience liaising with diverse stakeholders to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Established national and international networks across museums and the film sector, with experience loaning and adapting material for inclusion in exhibitions.
