The Brussels office is one of our several representative offices, alongside Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Milan, Rome and Prague. It is the point of contact for anyone wishing to sell or acquire high quality works of art through the auctions held in Vienna. Working across all art categories, its particular focus is on Old Masters, 19th and 20th century paintings.

 

To strengthen Dorotheum's network of experts in modern and contemporary art we are looking for a committed individual for our office in Brussels, to fill the following full-time position:

 

Expert in modern and contemporary art (m/w/d)

 

Your new responsibility:

  • You will be responsible for and expanding our customer base in the Benelux countries in collaboration with the head of representation in Brussels and the team in Vienna.
  • You will acquire, evaluate and catalogue paintings and objects in collaboration with the department in Vienna and the head of representation in Brussels.

 

Your experience and competences:

  • degree in art history ideally in the field of modern and contemporary art
  • several years of professional experience in the international art market
  • a network in the Benelux countries
  • professional proficiency in Dutch, French and English
  • willingness to travel, especially in the Benelux region
  • a high level of customer orientation and self-motivation and organisation
  • accuracy, discretion and team oriented
