Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager role is engaged in and responsible for the development and successful execution of the strategic marketing plan of Mousse Magazine and Publishing, including print and digital sales, communications materials, and collateral to meet and exceed designated revenue goals, and enhance patron engagement. This position will report to the Sole Director and work in collaboration with the Communications Manager, Mousse Magazine and Publishing’s editors, Art Director and designers. He/She will be responsible for managing sales and producing marketing materials to support the programs and initiatives of the company, as well as collaborating with all the team members on projects as needed.


3+ years previous experience in marketing and communications roles; developing and designing compelling marketing assets and sales tools; developing and implementing advertising campaign strategies.

Experience in working with international agencies and vendors.

Solid knowledge of contemporary art’s dynamics applied to marketing strategies.

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Full professional proficiency in English;* fluidity in French and German are considered a plus. 

Ability to work under pressure in an international, faced-paced, energetic, and creative work environment and able to meet competing deadlines.

Self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Experience in working in non-profit arts environment preferred.

Proficiency with CMR tools, SAP, Google Busyness Suite, Google Analytics, Mail Chimp and Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) is a plus.

Master’s degree in economics applied to arts preferred.


Develop, coordinate, and manage sales relationships for the company managing of all vendors, contractors and external agencies.

Research, develop, and maintain third party promotional partnerships and relationships.

Scouting for in-kind sponsorship opportunities for Mousse’s national and international events, merchandising and distribution projects.

Work with the Communication Manager and the editors to strategize and research how best to market to and target potential audiences for events and/or productions.

Research other arts and culture communications campaigns so as to ensure that Mousse Magazine and Publishing’s voice is being heard by a wide audience of art investors, be they institutions, galleries, schools, etc.

Manage and produce weekly and monthly sales reports. 

Work with the Communication Manager to develop and create media strategies for the positioning of editorial contents.

Collaborate with the Communication Manager to efficiently share necessary programming information for all communications and press needs.

Work with the Art Director and in-house graphic designers on layouts for marketing materials, so as to ensure that the products are of the highest quality and that they adhere to the image/brand of Mousse Magazine.
