Founded in 2013 by Aoi Nakamura and Esteban Lecoq, AΦE is a dance company based in Kent. Our speciality consists of incorporating technology within the dance theatre experience to completely reinvent audience participation. AΦE is the UK’s first dance company to tour with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality and lead the way with our innovative use of technology and perception of performance. Since AΦE’s creation, we have gained the support of prestigious venues around the world including Sadler’s Wells, London, the Sydney Festival and Théâtre de Chaillot, Paris.

During autumn 2021 we will move to new premises within the Historic Dockyard Chatham as we became associate artists of Institute of Culture and Creative Industry – University of Kent. The company is planning new developments and to deliver an ambitious programme of work over the next three years. AΦE is looking  for an experienced, pro-active and confident individual to oversee and manage the smooth running of the organisation, studio, projects to support the company grow in this new exciting phase.

The role is offered on a 3 day a week basis for an initial period of 12 months with the ambition of extending for a longer period and to a full-time position.

Hours: Normal office hours are between 9 – 5pm or 10am – 6pm, with one hour for lunch. There maybe a requirement to work evenings and weekends during busy times for which AΦE operates a time off in lieu system.

Place of work: The General Manager will be based at AΦE office and Creative Hub studio, at the University of Kent within Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Medway. The role might occasionally require travelling and staying away from home.

Probationary period: Three months

Fee: Fee for three days a week is £130 per day. This post is freelance.
