Gillian Mcvey is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly motivated arts PR expert to join our growing arts division.

The Press Manager role is an exciting public relations position at one of London’s leading multi-disciplinary PR agencies where you will have the opportunity to collaborate on inspiring projects with some of the exceptional artists and creators represented by the agency.  You will devise and deliver compelling media campaigns for a range of national and international contemporary arts projects, performances, exhibitions, and publications.

 

Gillian McVey provides a uniquely personal service to some of the most original voices in fashion, the arts, and contemporary culture including Christie's, Cork Street Galleries, Lanvin, Philippe Parreno, Solange Azagury-Partridge, Tim Walker, and Wayne McGregor.  

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Devising, implementing, and overseeing strategic PR campaigns  
  • Creating compelling press releases and persuasive pitches
  • Securing meaningful and far-reaching editorial coverage across all media platforms – digital, print, broadcast
  • Preparing and distributing communications documents and activity reports

  • Analyzing and distributing editorial to clients
  • Organising and managing PR events, private views, photocalls and launches
  • Managing campaign and account administration
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationship with artists and their studios and liaising with institutions, art spaces and galleries on their behalf in relation to all press and marketing related enquiries, both nationally and internationally
  • Liaising with clients to maintain excellent working relationships.
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with UK and international media
  • Managing press trips and budgets
  • Travelling to international cultural events to manage on-site press office and press trips as required

 

Essential qualifications: 

 

Proven track record in managing and delivering national and international PR campaigns within the arts and culture sectors

 

Essential Qualifications

 

  • Educated to degree level
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an arts and cultural PR
  • A genuine and demonstrable passion for arts and culture
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent and long-lasting relationships with arts & culture commissioning editors, editors, critics and journalists.
  • A good network of broadcast researchers and producers advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to construct and implement ambitious press campaigns, integrating digital and social media
  • Proven experience in managing high-level client relationships.
  • Superb written and verbal skills
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Experience in project management
  • Attention to detail with strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Determined, proactive, and works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working with stakeholders and partners
  • Flexible approach to work with ability to attend evening and weekend events where necessary
