The Ambassador Theatre Group is a world leader in live entertainment; we operate venues, run major ticketing platforms and produce award-winning shows. We are currently recruiting for the Deputy General Manager of the Opera House, a 1920 seat venue in Manchester's city centre.

At the Opera House we host work from leading UK and international producers, enabling the most spectacular West End and Broadway shows to visit the North West, alongside drama, classical and contemporary dance, live music, comedy and one-night specials. The theatres host around 650 performances each year with longer runs of major musicals mixed with week-long tours and one-night shows. We work increasingly in partnership with producers to open new shows or launch national tours.

The theatre's management team work collaboratively with their venue team and ATG’s central departments to ensure we offer the best possible service to visiting producers and audiences. As Deputy General Manager, you'll support the Theatre Manager and General Manager in the day to day management of this busy theatre.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Coaching and supporting the wider venue team to deliver outstanding experiences for our customers, clients and partners, maintaining excellent relationships with our collaborators.

Maximising the potential revenue from our activities, achieving our financial targets, increasing profitability and pursuing creative approaches to generate new growth.

Ensuring your unique building is safe, secure and maintained to a high standard for all who use it and that our operation runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Engaging the venue team in our values and mission, supporting people’s development and focussing team efforts on business priorities.

Experience from within the entertainment sector is welcomed but not essential and we actively encourage applications from people from the widest range of backgrounds, including those currently under-represented in this industry.
