Creative Facilitator (freelance)

The Farrell Centre explores the role of architecture and planning in shaping contemporary life through exhibitions, workshops, talks, essays, videos and podcasts. We are currently building our learning and participation programmes and are looking to establish a diverse register of Creative Facilitators to support us in developing engaging and meaningful workshops, activities, and projects for a wide range of audiences.

We will be working with children and young people, schools (key Stages 2, 3 and 4), HE students, as well as communities, adult visitors, and industry professionals. We aim to run a full engagement offer including monthly EYFS sessions, family workshops on weekends and during school holidays, workshops and visits for schools, outreach projects with schools and community groups, and hands-on learning activities for visitors, students, and peers. The activities will include both on-site and off-site delivery depending on the workshop, project and/or partners.

We will be looking to work with a range of Creative Facilitators/Practitioners with diverse practices from contemporary art to architecture, environment to engineering and beyond. Working together to develop an exciting and unique range of year-round and exhibition specific activity, including a workshop menu for schools and an exhibition specific family and adult public programme offer. Activities will be developed through responses to creative briefs and conversations with Farrell Centre staff.

Our engagement programme will begin in early 2023 and your role will be to support development of workshop and project activity and deliver activity to audiences. Development will include working with the Assistant Curator, Participation to develop proposals and ideas, producing workshop outlines, drafting materials lists, and providing copy & images for marketing materials. Delivery will include setting up workshops and activities, working with attendees, gathering data and feedback, and documenting activity if applicable/appropriate.
