Skinner, New England’s leading auction house for antiques & fine art, seeks a Director for our Boston Gallery. This individual will have their home base as Boston but will split their time between our Boston and Marlborough location.

General Duties

Managing the daily operation and maintenance of the Boston Gallery.

Hiring, training, and managing all full time and part-time Boston staff as needed.

Assisting with HR duties companywide.

Building and maintaining customer rapport. Fielding and resolving escalated issues.

Executing the proper transfer, packing/unpacking, and storage of inventory.

Handling all pickups, drop offs of sold/unsold property, consignments, and walk-ins in the Boston Gallery.

Function as the IT point person for all Boston Gallery systems.

Field customer service calls/emails companywide.

Manage & assist with in house, virtual, and external events.

Responsible for organizing and executing all live auctions.

Provide any other ad-hoc duties as requested

Accomplish the following:

Telephone bid entering, coordination, and supervision along with assisting with absentee bid support.

Working with department heads regarding specific auction requirements on setup and additional support.

Hands on work offloading and loading property from our trucks to curate and install all public previews. 

Assisting clients via phone, email, and in person.

Weeknight and weekend hours required where necessary.
