Work in Progress (www.workinprogress.mx) transforms a parking garage in the heart of Mexico City’s art district during Art Week 2026 into an immersive artist loft for an upcoming large-scale art fair. Instead of selling finished works, artists design, build, and work out of a temporary studio, inviting the public into the act of making. The project challenges conventional art fair models by emphasizing process, experimentation, and visibility over transaction.
As part of this unique format, we offer a limited number of studio spaces to galleries to feature one of their represented artists in solo shows. We are seeking a Gallery Partnerships & Sales Lead to spearhead outreach and studio placement for these gallery activations.
Novo Collective (www.novocollective.org) is an artist-run collective that incubates new ways of engaging the public with contemporary art. By pairing rigorous research with experimental production models, the Collective supports artists, curators, and gallerists in realising work that rethinks how audiences encounter art in everyday space. Work in Progress is one of several flagship initiatives under Novo Collective’s umbrella.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, approach, and secure participation from galleries aligned with the ethos of Work in Progress
- Develop tailored pitches and proposals that clearly communicate the conceptual and promotional value of participating
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participating galleries throughout onboarding, planning, and execution
- Collaborate with internal teams on curatorial alignment, stall logistics, and program development
- Maintain accurate tracking of conversations, commitments, and deadlines
Qualifications:
- Strong professional network within the contemporary gallery world, either North America, Europe, or Asia
- Background in gallery relations, art fairs, or cultural partnerships in a sales capacity

- Compensation: 15% commission (estimated $5000-$10,000 a month, about 5-10 sales a month)
