Summary
The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality images and videos that meet JWPictures’ goals by properly executing photo and video editing expertise based on client needs and requirements. This includes the receiving, processing, editing, and delivery of photos and/or video files, as well as, relationship management by supporting the clients, independent contractors, collaborators, and the JWP team.
Essential Job Functions
- Uses Adobe Creative Suite and other appropriate tools to manage, process, color correct, composite, and manipulate images and videos
- Works closely with photographers to produce images that meet the JWP standards and client requirements
- Works closely with Studio Manager to meet project deadlines
- Responds to clients’ request for re-edits, archived images, and answers all general questions relating to photographs and videos
- Keep extensive archive organized and up-to-date and ensures that all files are backed up onto the archival system
- Updates Production Log on a daily basis and ensures all post-production information is current and correct
- Manages memory cards in tandem with the photography team
- Stays up to date with new image editing technologies
- Be highly organized and have excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines
- Other related duties are assigned
Relationship Management
- Develops and maintains positive client relationships through establishing open lines of communication, delivering photo assignments and following up on requests in a timely manner
- Develops external relationships by working collaboratively with outside parties (i.e. galleries, museums, independent contractors, book designers, etc.), and being responsive to team related requests or questions
- Develops and maintains critical internal studio team relationships by being in constant contact with the photography team and the Studio Manager
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced or expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Lightroom and Photoshop)
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as Photo Editor
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Photography or related field
- Affinity for fine arts and familiarity with the art world
- Software applications:
- Apple OS and applications (Mail, Calendar, Messages, etc.)
- File sharing (Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive)
- Remote connectivity (LogMeIn, TeamViewer, Zoom)
- Press prep/printing knowledge and experience is a plus
- Analog photography and film scanning experience is a plus
- Knowledge of various archival methods is a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Business hours are 10 am – 6 pm, Mondays through Fridays
- May require revised working hours for international projects (based on location and predetermined delivery deadlines)
