Founded by Katia David Rosenthal, KDR305 opened its doors in 2021. Katia represents over a decade of experience in curatorial practice and advising. The gallery is committed to exhibiting emerging and recognized artists from Miami’s backyard and abroad. Initially situated within the historic Little Havana neighborhood, the gallery took residence in a unique 103-year-old house, offering an unconventional setting for exhibitions. Now, KDR has moved to the vibrant Allapattah Neighborhood, marking an exciting new chapter in the gallery's journey.

POSITION SUMMARY: GALLERY ASSISTANT

The Gallery Assistant provides support on events, installs

and marketing activities. They serve as the ‘face of the gallery’ greeting visitors, artists and

contractors as they enter and alert the staff as needed. The Gallery Assistant also

manages the digital materials of the gallery, including but not limited to producing the

gallery catalogs, images, social media, Dropbox, etc.

 

Digital responsibilities include:

• Producing all digital material for the gallery

• Assisting with website creation, as well as other digital platforms

• Overseeing photography of exhibitions when needed

• Assisting with Social Media content and calendar, as well as other

Marketing / PR projects

• Organizing all gallery images via Adobe Photoshop and Dropbox, as well as Arternal

• Updating prospects, clients, and artist records in Arternal as needed

• Providing remote support to staff who are traveling

• Maintaining gallery calendar (include important artist and gallery dates/art world

events/birthdays)

• Handling travel arrangements for staff and artists

• Preparing for meetings as directed (including preparing a biweekly meeting agenda for internal

meetings, as well as taking minutes on external meetings)

Events Responsibilities:

• Maintaining event guest lists at the direction of the Director/ Assistant Director

• Manning the front desk at openings and special events

• Being available for all opening receptions, dinners, and events as well as supporting the team

with the organization of these events and their closing procedures

 

General responsibilities include:

• Being friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the gallery, its mission, program

and artists

• Answering phones in a professional and personable manner

• Greeting visitors and walking them through the gallery in order to provide a complete and

positive visitor experience

• Opening and sorting general mail

• Receiving packages and directing vendors as needed

• Handling client calls and visits

• Assist with gallery maintenance to ensure an exceptional client and visitor experience

• Managing inventory of supplies and ordering them as needed

• Ensure effective internal communication so that colleagues have sufficient and timely

information to achieve their goals

• Miscellaneous errands

Requirements/Skills:

BA preferred. Experience in a gallery or museum setting preferred.

• Professionalism / client interface. Proficient and professional with client communication

• Strong computer skills, including Adobe Suite including Pages, Photoshop, Dropbox, MS

Office suite and Arternal

• Excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills

• Creative problem solving, both logistically and physically

• Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Valid driver's license

 

Must be available for gallery installations, openings and other events as needed, which

may take place over weekends or fall outside normal gallery hours and may include travel.

Gallery hours are Tuesday thru Saturday 11 am - 5 pm.
