HERE Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary theater company in downtown New York, seeks a General Manager to begin as soon as possible.

General Manager will report to the Producing Director and will act as the operating hub of the organization, overseeing:

- Financial tracking, analysis and reporting
- Contracts and negotiations
- Production for both HERE-produced and HERE-presented work
- Human resources administration
- Café management
- Insurance Applications and Reporting
- Facility and IT operations

The General Manager will work closely with all departments to ensure smooth and successful procedures are developed and implemented throughout the organization. The successful candidate will oversee a Company Manager and Business Administrator, as well as various interns throughout the year.

HERE produces and presents a very heavy season with unique challenges throughout. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, very well-organized, and will exhibit a calm demeanor, sense of humor, and deep commitment to equity and team-building work.

The successful candidate will also have:
- A passion for creating new works and for working directly with artists
- Understanding of the theatrical production process
- Strong knowledge of union contracting and industry best-practices
- Strong financial skills, including bookkeeping and budgeting
- Advanced experience with Quickbooks and Excel
- Strong knowledge of New York and Federal Labor Laws
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Advanced (Mac) computer knowledge, including basic networking understanding

Helpful Skills:
- Self-starter, organized and highly detail-oriented;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Training or Lived Experience in anti-oppression and equity work
- Desire to be part of a friendly, forward-thinking community of staff, artists and supporters

Salary Range: mid-60Ks
Unlimited Paid Time Off with a two-week mandatory minimum
