Seeking a Cataloguer and Client Relations administrator with professional experience for Swann Galleries’ busy Photographs Department. Responsibilities include estimating and evaluating property for three sales each year, writing condition reports and historical essays, researching consignment inquiries, managing the in-house inventory, installing the sale previews, and building client relationships. Detailed knowledge of classical and contemporary photography required.

Other important tasks focus on client relations, including fielding phone calls, providing client administrative support, facilitating pre- and post-auction management of material, liaising with other internal departments, and supporting individual client requests.

Previous professional experience in art auction houses and/or galleries is a must. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and an appreciation for teamwork. The candidate must demonstrate constructive problem solving, excellent writing skills, quick follow-through, and the ability to manage various tasks in a hectic, fast-paced environment. The position requires direct communication with clients (consignors and buyers), internal office departments, art foundations, art historical experts and third-party companies. The role reports directly to the Department Director.
M-F, 10am - 6pm, some Saturday exhibition days.
