Brief Description:

My backstory:

My name is Grace Gutekanst. I am an artist, always have been. I am young (25) but I have gotten very far in life with my love for art, culture, and humanity.  I did not come from a wealthy family but I worked my way up and have worked for and with extremely wealthy people.  After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Painting, I worked 4 jobs in Charlotte, NC, USA before I networked my way to becoming an Art Coordinator for a couple from South Africa who had lived all over the world and had an art collection of over 200 pieces. I helped categorize, photograph, help refurbish, and organize their huge collection, as well as go to private art openings and dinners at The Mint Museum with artists and collectors.  From there, I worked solely as an artist, and living as an artist, through commissions of large oil paintings for a jeweler in Washington, DC, USA.  (One painting I did was a 6 foot by 3 foot double sided oil painting of diamonds hung in a glass room.)

I relocated in March 2015 to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, when asked by MILK Magazine to work for them. I brought in over 90% of their ad sales and raised there social media drastically. Afterwards, I moved to the position of Editor in Chief of Ladies Magazine, a women's lifestyle magazine featuring Asian celebrities.  At the same time I oversaw and was Editor in Chief of the teen magazine, Justeen. I had a team of over 30 below me and worked there for over one year. While I was Editor in chief of 2 magazines, I painted at night and had an exhibition in Siem Reap, Cambodia and Phnom Penh, Cambodia.  My work was featured in The Phnom Penh Post, AsiaLIFE Magazine, The Cambodia Daily, Khmer Times, and This is She Magazine.

After quitting my job as Editor in Chief of Ladies Magazine, I have been helping a startup magazine, doing freelance interior design, and selling artwork.  I am leaving Cambodia after MCing Phnom Penh Designer's Week (for the second time) in the first week of May 2017 and heading to Manchester. Ideally, I would love to move to Manchester, but I am looking for a job that is a good fit.

I hope this gives you a good feel for who I am as a person. I am an optimistic go-getter and empathetic artist.  If I seem to be a good fit, please let me know.
