To Whom It May Concern,

The details you have posted for this position relates very well to my interest and facilities in this field.

Having experience in studio art and a history of commissioned art has prepared me well for such a position.  I have been creating commissioned pieces & murals for 15 years-two of those years within a physical business-and so that has enabled experience working to please the customer. My commissioned pieces have met the requests of the patrons. I also have history designing menus, flyers and logos for patrons.  I often am referred to others by previous clients.

As an activities director at an assisted living facility and as the only tutor and sole librarian at Santee Public Library (Santee, SC), I honed leadership skills and also the ability to accomplish projects. At the assisted living facility, the families often were happy their loved ones were being creative. The mural I created for the library’s children’s corner was recognized in the local newspaper. My education in studio art has allowed me to envision a variety of ideas and this has allowed me to be able to bring those ideas into fruition using a variety of medium, including digital photography and graphic design/art. I am widely creative and am able to render figures and objects using a wide range of styles (from cartoon/manga to realism/naturalism) I am familiar with Adobe CS 4-6: Photoshop, Illustrator and am becoming familiar with InDesign.  Overall, I am familiar with art, design & communicative/client areas. I am proficient at working alone or with others. My abilities have been used to create fine art (portraits for example) and media materials (logos for example) for many clients over the years. I have also been a part of joint art exhibits (2009 and 2014) and a solo art exhibit (2012).

I would appreciate the chance to contribute to your fine company, all the while willing to learn more.  I am open to the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my candidacy and any arrangements.  I hope that you will respond at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Calonie Johnson
