She engages with the cathartic and meditative attributes of photography to explore and translate her experience of the quotidian into poetic and illuminating pieces of visual art. In her graduate work, time acts as McGarry’s commodity in which she gently reconnects and explores her experiences, consciousness and imagination in the form of self-expression. In doing so, McGarry provides insight into her perspective gaze and creates a new space for the viewer to exercise their own imagination and consciousness.
