Exhibition Statement

Zhang Zhaohui (b. 1965, Hebei Province, China) has long been drawn to modern and contemporary American art, particularly to Minimalism but also more expressive formulations such as Abstract Expressionism. At the same time, he is wholly enamored of Chinese ink wash painting and has been since he was ten, when he first

PHOTOFAIRS New York

PHOTOFAIRS New York is a new contemporary art fair operating at the intersection of photography and new technologies. The Fair will present a state-of-the-art view of visual culture at The Javits Center in Manhattan, September 8-10, 2023. The strong curatorial approach of PHOTOFAIRS New York will present an expansive view of the contemporary market centered around image making, digital media and innovative practices. PHOTOFAIRS New York programming will connect collectors and visitors with international galleries and boundary-pushing artists to invite discourse and interaction.

 

CHAMPIONS

Champions, a fundraiser exhibition at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, NY, merges the worlds of fine art and boxing. Organized by T.K.O.O X OCLESSE in association with the World Boxing Council, Jose Sulaiman Charity Boxer's Fund, and WBC Cares, this event supports retired boxers.

Join us on July 8th, 2023, at Gleason's Gym (130 Water Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201) from 5-6pm for media and 6-10pm for guests. This gathering invites boxing professionals, enthusiasts, art industry experts, and collectors to celebrate the Champions of Boxing through fine art and performance.

Mark DeGarmo Dance Awarded $168,500 Over 3 Years by the New York State Council on the Arts

New York, New York - Mark DeGarmo Dance announced today three grants totaling $168,500 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the recovery of the nonprofit arts and culture sector. Following New York State’s historic investment for The Arts, NYSCA has awarded $90 million since Spring 2022 to a record number of artists and organizations across the state. The first two, Regrowth and Capacity Enhancement grants in the amount of $10,000 each, were awarded in October 2022 for increasing staff hours and rebuilding in-person public performances.
