Load Gallery presents group exhibition, Neo Botanica: An Atlas of Artificially Generated Flora. This event draws inspiration from a related book and augmented reality initiative developed by Vetro Editions, curated by Luca Bendandi and Freya Marshall.

At the core of the exhibition lies the Neo Botanica book, serving as a contemporary florilegium that explores the fascinating intersections of art, nature, and technology. The publication features contributions from 32 innovative artists and collectives. Attendees at Load gallery will have the opportunity to engage with works from 29 of these remarkable creators, marking this as one of the gallery's most ambitious and intellectually stimulating exhibitions to date.

The exhibition showcases how modern artists employ AI, CGI, 3D modeling, and programming to create imaginative botanical landscapes. These artistic expressions include representations of extinct flowers, entirely new hybrids that have never existed, and plant forms generated through algorithmic techniques. The accompanying book not only stands out as a significant publishing achievement but also offers an interactive experience through augmented reality features, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the artwork in innovative ways.

Among the highlighted artists is Refik Anadol, who gained fame in Barcelona for being the first to project a mapping display onto Casa Batlló in 2022. At Load gallery, he will present his groundbreaking piece titled The Large Nature Model (LNM). This work is recognized as the first open-source generative AI model focused on exploring nature. A key aspect of LNM, known as LNM: Flora, analyzes millions of floral images to reveal the intelligent biological processes inherent in plant life. By utilizing natural color schemes and AI-generated visuals, it exposes hidden structures and patterns within nature, underscoring the critical importance of conservation for our planet’s future.

The artistic duo Entangled Others will exhibit a collection inspired by the natural elements found in the Palau de la Música Catalana. These works were specifically crafted for the Palau's artistic season of 2023-2024.

Plants have historically symbolized beauty, fragility, and renewal. In Neo Botanica, these concepts are reinterpreted against the backdrop of urgent climate change issues. The combination of botany and digital technology invites viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between nature and technological progress. The artworks inspire a reevaluation of our relationship with the environment and encourage discussions on how technology can serve as a means for restoration rather than harm.

Featured Artists include: Refik Anadol, Tatsuru Arai, Luca Bogoni, Andrea Brewster, Andee Collard, Zach Darren Corzine, Mauro Cosenza, Linda Dounia, Stephan Duquesnoy, Elekktronaut (Bileam Tschepe), Entangled Others, Katherine Frazer, Hannes Hummel, Hypereikon, Joann, Markos Kay, Jim Linear, David Lisser, Generative Art Studio, Phenomena Labs, Andréa Philippon, Anna Ridler, Monica Rizzolli, Nat Sarkissian, Drake Smith, Leonardo Solaas, Spacefiller (Alex Miller), Ivona Tau, and aurèce vettier.
