YES, BUT

Under the creative direction of artist Aaron Nachtailer, an atypical format conceived to evolve over time launches in Milan, debuting with an exhibition project as part of the official program of Milano Art Week 2026.

The exhibition YES, BUT, which takes its name from the format itself, brings together works by Aaron Nachtailer, Florencia S. M. Brück, Morgane Tschiember, and Rocco Plessi (with a text by Stefano Pirovano). Installations, sounds, and site-specific interventions make latent tensions visible, transforming them into dynamic organisms. The journey invites visitors to move through environments where matter, gesture, and time interweave, as architecture becomes an integral part of the experience.

Everything takes place in buildings slated for renovation or demolition, temporarily reactivated through contemporary practices. Hence the choice of title, YES, BUT — two words identical in length that reflect the nature of the project: the spaces exist and come alive (yes), yet remain suspended (but), destined to transform or disappear. This condition translates into the visitor's experience of moving through and inhabiting the spaces without ever possessing them, within an unstable and temporary dimension.

The exhibition situates itself in an interval — between what still is and what will no longer be.

The project, developed with the Milanese construction company VivirDC, contributes to the temporary valorization of spaces in transformation, making them accessible to the public and activating peripheral areas of the city, bringing cultural initiatives beyond the central circuits.

Cultural mediation will be provided through an educational project developed in collaboration with students from NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, who will take part in welcoming and guiding visitors.
