#AFFESTNYC 2019: OCTOBER 17-19 @ DOLBY SCREENING ROOM NYC
THE ARTISTS FORUM FESTIVAL OF THE MOVING IMAGE: 2019 (#affestnyc) returns for its fourth year with new, innovative programming starting October 17 through 19, 2019 in New York City. The festival provides a platform for filmmakers from around the world to share their stories with New York's creative, media, and film communities.
The screenings will be held October 17 and 18 from 8:30PM to 10:30 PM, and October 19 from 7PM to 11PM at the Dolby Screening Room - 1350 Avenue of the Americas at West 55th Street (Lobby Level) in Mid-town Manhattan. This venue is ADA Compliant.
THE ARTISTS FORUM FESTIVAL OF THE MOVING IMAGE: 2019 will showcase 30 short films, created by independent filmmakers originating from 9 countries: Afghanistan, Argentina, Dominican Republic, France, India, Iran, Portugal, Spain, and the United States. The festival requires that films present innovative vision and unique perspectives in 30 minutes or less.
"We are very excited about our fourth year entries and our new screening location," said festival director Amos White V. " As in years previous, THE ARTISTS FORUM FESTIVAL OF THE MOVING IMAGE will present a selection of original films from extraordinary filmmakers, including several premieres."
THE ARTISTS FORUM FESTIVAL OF THE MOVING IMAGE is a competitive program open worldwide to filmmakers of all levels seeking to gain exposure in New York's international market. Each year, the festival highlights a wide variety of categories, such as: Narrative, Experimental, Sci-Fi, Dark Themes, and Music Video. This year, the festival will also feature a special themed category: Social Justice.
"THE ARTISTS FORUM established its FESTIVAL OF THE MOVING IMAGE to provide an intimate alternative for both emerging and mid-career filmmakers outside of the traditional Hollywood community," said White, who is also the president and founder of THE ARTISTS FORUM. "We are committed to producing an unparalleled opportunity for independent filmmakers to be seen and heard in New York City's formidable arts and media market."
THE ARTISTS FORUM INC., celebrating its 20th year, is a NY state non-profit arts service organization specializing in events, media, and juried competitions for artists. Its FESTIVAL OF THE MOVING IMAGE is the organization's flagship program.
AFFESTNYC is funded in part by a grant from the NYC & Company Foundation.
